EDIT 2:
THE RAFFLE IS CLOSED! Thank you to everyone who entered and donated prizes! I'm going to give out the last of the lotto numbers and announce the winners this weekend. THIS MEANS I WILL NO LONGER BE GIVING OUT LOTTO NUMBERS! I'M SORRY. I announced the winners here
Raffle Winners!Hi all
It's been a long week for me with all this raffle business, but it's been totally worth it! I first want to say that I'm very sorry I had to shorten the deadline. I had no idea that it would get such an enormous response, and I knew I was a little in over my head after the second day when I had given out over 500 lotto numbers. As much as I so enjoyed giving out those numbers, I didn't want to spend the rest of the month doing so. XD
Next, I'm giving a GIGANTIC shout out to all those who donated additional prizes for the raffle. Their generosity made the raffle so much bigger and better than it ever would have been if it had just been me and my prizes. They deserve some real love and appreciation, so be kind and show it to them.
Finally, thank you to everyone who entered. There was a grand total of 1082 lotto numbers received, which put us at just over 1000 entries. You guys are the reason I am and will remain (until they kick me off) a member of this comm
EDIT:
Due to the overwhelming response from the community to this raffle, I've decided to host it only until we hit 1000 participants. After 30 hours this journal being alive, I gave away 500 raffle numbers, more than double the original goal. Now, we're a little over half-way to 1000 at this point, which makes it even more important for you to join now if you want a shot at these points. I do apologize for the change and any inconvenience this causes.
The deviantART community has been extremely fantastic to me, and I'm always so glad to be a part of such a wonderful, huge family. To celebrate my one year on DA, I want to take this opportunity to give back to all of you who make being here so worthwhile!
The rules of this raffle are so incredibly simple, you won't even believe it! You have one month starting on April 10, 2013 to enter. I will be using a random number generator to choose the winners. To enter, all you have to do is favorite this journal and write one of your own featuring this giveaway with a link back to this journal. (The reason I ask for the favorite is to get this little giveaway more exposure. Not for me, not for my art, but for you!) Once you've made your journal, post a link to it in the comments here so I can give you your number.
You may obtain an additional number for every group you feature this raffle in. (Link these features in a comment below as well.)
You don't have to be a watcher to participate; however, if you are one of the faithful few, you get a bonus point because I love you and you're awesome. :>
Now, I have a lot of points to give away, and I don't want any of them to go to waste. If there are not 200+ participants in this raffle, it will not happen. So go ahead! Spread the word; tell your friends! Get a pic or do a blog! You know you want those points, and I want to give them away. Don't miss out, because the deadline to enter is May 10, 2013!
I will select four big prize winners on May 11 and will announce the them on May 12. I will also select three random deviants who will win smaller prizes. All participants will receive llama badges from me and .

Promotion Time!
Hello followers, what few of you are still around to watch me :)
My years away from this page have brought me through quite a few trials and tears, and though at one point I feared I would lose my voice for writing, it seems I have come back to it again - this time, with a fury!
As many of you may know, I have carried around the idea for a series of novels titled "We Are Human" for six, going on seven, years now. It is a story that has been with me since I was fourteen, and I have never been able to shake it. Over the course of my growing up, I have fleshed out the plot and developed the characters; now at age twenty, I feel ready to share
Long time - no see, eh?
Hello everyone,
I've definitely been away for a while. I'd like to see who still actively follows me, so if you don't mind giving this journal a favorite or leaving a comment. Thanks you :)

Farewell!
I'm losing my premium membership in about a week, and I'm too poor to afford a new one. Oh well.
I'll be most sad about losing my GIFs.
Goodbye, my sweet, beautiful GIFs.
:tears:
Structure Aside
I'm taking a leaf out of ~insomniaplague (https://www.deviantart.com/insomniaplague) book and analyzing my own poetry. I wanted to tackle "Open Sea" for a couple of reasons. One is because of the meaning it has for me; the other is because it's one of my most popular pieces with so many different views and speculations on what it's about. I know it's a little long, so bare with me.
Here goes.
This piece is about loss as many of my pieces are. I've dealt with a lot of loss in my life, and although there are some lines inspired by personal experience, this poem isn't about any of the ones I grieve over in particular. Anyway, I liked the idea of being lost at sea among the crashing waves,
